100 Years of Design History

Roger Cox, our Global Sales Manager, was contacted recently for some history on a seat manufactured by Hallam Sleigh & Cheston, predecessor to Widney Manufacturing.

The patented fold down seat was designed and manufactured in Birmingham to fit a Horstman car built in 1927.  The Horstman company built 1500 vehicles between 1913 and 1929 using the Hallam Sleigh & Cheston seat.

Widney have a long history in pioneering the design and manufacture of products for the vehicle industry and the Horstman seat is  testimony to the company's longevity in this sector.
